LCP
Exceptional strength with minimal creep
High-performance liquid crystal polymer (LCP) yarns engineered for dimensional stability, precision, and long-term performance under load.
Precision under continuous load
LCP is a high-performance multifilament yarn spun from liquid crystal polymer (LCP), developed for applications where dimensional stability and mechanical precision are critical. It combines very high tensile strength with a high modulus and stiffness, delivering a strength-to-weight ratio up to five times higher than steel.
A key characteristic of LCP is its extremely low creep behaviour. Under sustained load, the yarn maintains its length and shape, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring long-term accuracy, predictable performance, and minimal deformation.
LCP performs reliably across a wide temperature range and offers good resistance to many chemicals and industrial environments. While the fibre itself has limited UV stability, performance in outdoor or UV-exposed applications can be significantly improved through engineered constructions, coatings, and finishes.
At TP, LCP is supplied as part of a carefully engineered yarn solution, tailored to both functional requirements and downstream processing needs.
Engineered for stability, stiffness, and control
LCP is selected where conventional high-strength fibres reach their limits in terms of creep and dimensional control.

Usage
Applications requiring precision and long-term stability
LCP is used in applications where strength alone is not sufficient and where dimensional stability and creep resistance are decisive. Typical applications include:
Ropes & Cordage
For precision load control
Cable & tensile reinforcement
Requiring minimal elongation
Technical & performance textiles
Demanding stiffness and shape retention
Industrial reinforcement structures
With sustained mechanical loads
Hybrid yarn constructions
Combining LCP with other fibres
Specialist technical applications
Where long-term accuracy is critical
Independent material advice for the right fit, always.
TP is not a fibre producer. Material selection is driven by application performance, not by preference for a specific fibre. LCP is evaluated based on criteria such as creep behaviour, stiffness, dimensional stability, and thermal performance.
Through technical consultation, co-engineering, and in-house testing, TP determines whether LCP is the optimal solution or whether a hybrid construction or alternative material will deliver better results. The objective is always the same: engineering the best possible yarn solution for each application.
